Boston Product Management Association introduces first forum for Product Executives in the Greater Boston Area

18/03/2013 - Fort Mill Times

Product Executive forum provides a regular opportunity for senior product leaders to network and discuss issues.

Starting April 5, senior product executives from throughout the Greater Boston Area will participate in facilitated discussions about the opportunities and issues they face. Networking groups in the Greater Boston Area cater to the leaders of a variety of functions such as HR, sales, finance, and marketing, yet until now there has been no equivalent group for senior product executives.

The Boston Product Management Association (BPMA) has addressed this need in the form of a new, once a month breakfast meeting for senior product executives. Named the Product Executives Forum, each meeting is topic-specific, ranging from organizing effective teams to pricing to selling solutions, and facilitated by management consultant Neil Baron, Managing Director at Baron Strategic Partners.

Executives at companies including Experian QAS, DS SolidWorks, PlumChoice, Inc, Litle & Co, and NetProspex have expressed enthusiasm for this new program, citing that product management and product marketing expertise will be key to continued success.

Fielder Hiss, VP of Product Management at DS SolidWorks, comments, “The opportunity to have an executive sounding-board for best practices in product management is something we are very excited about. I applaud the BPMA for taking the initiative to bring together local product leaders.”

Neil Baron, the Forum’s facilitator, is also excited to bring such a group together.

“The ability to identify market opportunities, bring innovative products successfully to market, empower a variety of sales channels and set appropriate price levels are among the many expectations of today’s product teams. Product professionals are now the quarterbacks of their organizations and play a vital role in the success of not just their companies but the economy. I look forward to facilitating discussions and enabling this prestigious group of executives to share their vast experiences.”

The Product Executives Forum is an exclusive program for product leaders in the Greater Boston Area. All participants must be senior leader in their respective organization and responsible for the product management or product marketing function.

The mission of the Boston Product Management Association is to enhance the professional development of product management and product marketing professionals in the Greater Boston area by offering skills training, job resources, mentoring, educational workshops, and networking opportunities.
